If you’re an USA resident that has worked from home or considered working from home, then you have probably heard about Amazon Mechanical Turk (mTurk) and mTurk batches. mTurk is a market place for work that requires human intelligence. It was created by Amazon based on the idea that there are some things that humans beings can do much more effectively than computers. Such tasks include selecting objects from a picture or video, writing product descriptions, transcribing audios, or searching data details.
Companies or developers that need tasks done can assess Amazon Turk’s market place of workers. Tasks are known as HITS (Human Intelligence Tasks) which are questions that need an answer.
Although the pay on Amazon Mechanical Turk may seem low, if you make good use of your time, you can reach a good hourly rate of pay. There are two ways to do this : know the good mTurk batches to snatch up and find quick high paying surveys. As I stated in a previous post ( Is It Possible To Make $50+/ day on Amazon Mechanical Turk (Mturk), the biggest problem is know what HITS to accept and do. Good mTurk batches change over time. So if you a regularly turker, keeping up with the updated list shouldn’t be too hard.
